What is a Polypro Hoop?

A Polypro Hoop is a lightweight and responsive hula hoop made from polypropylene. Its light construction allows for faster movement and makes it particularly well suited to tricks, off-body hooping and more technical flow.

What does a Polypro Hoop look like?

Polypro Hoops are made from coloured polypropylene tubing with a smooth finish. The colour is part of the tubing itself, giving the hoop a simple, vibrant look without decorative tape.

What is the difference between a Polypro Hoop and a Taped Hoop?

Choose a Polypro Hoop if you’re looking for a lightweight hoop that responds quickly to your movements. It’s a great choice for tricks, off-body hooping and faster, more dynamic flow.

Why choose a Polypro Hoop?

Choose a Polypro Hoop if you’re looking for a lightweight hoop that responds quickly to your movements. It’s a great choice for tricks, off-body hooping and faster, more dynamic flow.

Who is a Polypro Hoop suitable for?

Polypro Hoops are particularly popular with experienced hoopers and those progressing to more technical tricks and off-body movements.

They can also be used for on-body and waist hooping, but because they are lighter and move faster, they generally require more technique than a Taped Hoop.

Can a beginner use a Polypro Hoop?

Yes, but it may take more practice. The light weight and faster movement of a Polypro Hoop can make waist hooping more challenging when you’re just getting started.

If your main goal is learning waist hooping and the basics, a Taped Hoop will generally provide more weight and stability.

Is a Polypro Hoop collapsible?

Yes. A standard Polypro Hoop has a push-button connection that allows the hoop to be opened and carefully coiled down for easier transport and storage.

See the guide on how to take apart and reassemble your Polypro Hoop here.

What is a sectional Polypro Hoop?

Yes. A standard Polypro Hoop has a push-button connection that allows the hoop to be opened and carefully coiled down for easier transport and storage.

See the guide on how to take apart and reassemble your Polypro Hoop here.

Can I make my Polypro Hoop sectional?

Yes. If you would like your Polypro Hoop to come apart into smaller sections, add the Make it Sectional add-on when placing your order.

The add-on applies to one Polypro Hoop and must be purchased together with the hoop you would like made sectional.

What is the difference between a standard and sectional Polypro Hoop?

A standard Polypro Hoop has one connection. It can be opened at this connection and carefully coiled down for transport.

A sectional Polypro Hoop has several connections and can be separated into multiple smaller pieces instead.

The sectional option is therefore especially useful if you travel frequently with your hoop or prefer not to transport it coiled down.

How do I order a sectional Polypro Hoop?

First, add the Polypro Hoop you would like to your cart.

Then add Make it Sectional and enter the name of the Polypro Hoop you want the add-on applied to.

If you’re ordering several Polypro Hoops and would like more than one of them made sectional, add one sectional add-on for each hoop.

Can I choose how many sections my Polypro Hoop has?

Yes. When ordering the Make it Sectional add-on, you can choose from the available sectional options to suit how you plan to transport and store your hoop.

Does the Make it Sectional add-on include a hoop?

No. Make it Sectional is an add-on only and does not include a Polypro Hoop.

You must purchase a Polypro Hoop separately in the same order.

What is a Taped Hoop?

A Taped Hoop is a traditional hula hoop with more weight and stability than a Polypro Hoop. This makes it a beginner-friendly choice, particularly for learning waist hooping and basic movements.

Taped Hoops are available in colourful designs created using decorative tape.

How is a Taped Hoop made?

A Taped Hoop is made from plastic tubing approximately 20 mm thick. The tubing is decorated with two to three coloured tapes and finished with a layer of clear protective tape to help protect the design.

What does a Taped Hoop look like?

A Taped Hoop is decorated with colourful tapes that create its distinctive design. Different colour combinations give each hoop its own look, while a clear protective layer helps protect the decorative tape during use.

Who is a Taped Hoop suitable for?

Taped Hoops are particularly suitable for beginners and anyone learning waist hooping and the basics.

They’re also a good choice if you simply prefer the feel of a slightly heavier, more stable hoop.

Is a Taped Hoop easier for beginners?

Generally, yes. The additional weight and stability mean a Taped Hoop moves more slowly than a lightweight Polypro Hoop, giving you more time to react and adjust your movements while learning.

Why choose a Taped Hoop?

A Taped Hoop is a great choice if you’re learning to hoop or prefer a hoop with more weight and stability.

The additional weight helps the hoop maintain its momentum and gives you more time to react, which can make waist hooping and basic movements easier to learn.

How should I store my Taped Hoop?

Store your Taped Hoop in a dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Avoid leaving it coiled down for long periods, as storing it in its full circular shape helps maintain the shape of the hoop.

Can I order a custom-made Taped Hoop?

Is a Taped Hoop collapsible?

A Taped Hoop has a connection that can be opened so the hoop can be carefully coiled down, making it easier to transport and store.

See the guide on how to take apart and reassemble your Taped Hoop here.

Should I choose a Polypro Hoop or a Taped Hoop?

It depends on how you plan to use your hoop.

If you’re a beginner and primarily want to learn waist hooping and basic movements, a Taped Hoop is generally the easier place to start because of its additional weight and stability.

If you’re looking for a lightweight, responsive hoop for faster movement, off-body tricks and more technical flow, a Polypro Hoop may be the better fit.

Does the size of my hula hoop matter?

Hoop diameter affects how quickly the hoop moves and how it feels to use.

A larger hoop generally rotates more slowly, giving you more time to react, which can be helpful when learning waist and other on-body movements. A smaller hoop moves faster and is often preferred for off-body tricks and more technical movements.

Use the hoop size guide to find the size that best suits your experience and the type of hooping you want to practise.

Does the weight of my hula hoop matter?

The weight of your hoop affects how quickly it moves and how much control it gives you.

A heavier hoop generally moves more slowly and can be easier to follow when learning waist hooping and basic movements. A lighter hoop responds more quickly, making it well suited to faster movements, tricks and more technical flow.
